Workshop on Pain (Blind Injection Techniques)
Basic Anatomy and Physical Examination for Blind Injection in Common Pain Syndromes
08.00 – 08.15 | Registration & Opening
Opening Remarks “Precision Through Anatomy: Confident Blind Injection in Daily Practice”
08.15 – 08.50 | Session 1
Basic Anatomy and Physical Examination for Blind Injection in Wrist: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Trigger Finger, De Quervain Syndrome
dr. Asep Nugraha Hermawan, Sp.N, Subsp. NN(K)
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Identify the surface anatomy and palpable landmarks of the wrist relevant to blind injection.
Perform a focused physical examination for carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and De Quervain syndrome.
Determine the correct needle entry point and depth for each condition.
Recognize high-risk structures to avoid during the procedure.
08.50 – 09.25 | Session 2
Basic Anatomy and Physical Examination for Blind Injection in Shoulder: Frozen Shoulder, Subacromial Bursitis, Osteoarthritis, Acromioclavicular Joint
dr. Vonny F. Goenawan, Sp.S, M.Kes, CIPS
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Identify the surface anatomy and bony landmarks of the shoulder for blind injection.
Perform a physical examination to localize frozen shoulder, subacromial bursitis, osteoarthritis, and acromioclavicular joint pathology.
Select the appropriate injection approach and needle positioning for each target.
Minimize complications during shoulder injection.
09.25 – 10.00 | Session 3
Basic Anatomy and Physical Examination for Blind Injection in Lower Extremities: Osteoarthritis Genu, Plantar Fasciitis, Osteoarthritis Ankle Joint
dr. Agus Permadi, Sp.S
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Identify the surface anatomy and landmarks of the knee, plantar region, and ankle.
Perform a physical examination for knee osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, and ankle osteoarthritis.
Achieve accurate blind needle placement for each condition.
Recognize and prevent injection-related complications.
10.00 – 10.15 | Coffee Break
10.15 – 12.00 | Hands-On Skill Stations
